Purpose of the content. Cloudwright publishes educational material about weather observation and cloud identification. It is informational only. It is not meteorological advice, it is not a forecast service, and it must not be used as the basis for decisions about safety, aviation, marine operations, agriculture or emergency response. Always use an official meteorological service for those decisions.

No warranty of accuracy. Cloud descriptions follow the World Meteorological Organization's classification, but clouds do not read the classification. Altitudes, seasonal windows and quantitative rules of thumb given here are approximations for observation, and your local conditions may differ substantially.

Safety. Observing weather involves real hazards, including lightning, high winds, hail and exposure to heat and cold. The safety guidance on this site is general and is not a substitute for your own judgement or for local official warnings. You are responsible for your own safety while observing.

Intellectual property. The text, the parametric SVG plates and the site design are the property of Cloudwright unless otherwise stated. You may quote short extracts with a link back to the source page. You may not republish substantial portions, and you may not use the content to train machine learning models without written permission.

Third-party content and links. We link to external resources where they are useful. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

Advertising. This site displays advertising. Advertisers have no influence over editorial content, and no advertiser has ever been given prior sight of a field note.

Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cloudwright is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of this site or reliance on its content.

Changes. We may revise these terms. The revised version takes effect when posted at this address with a new last-updated date.
